Currently, with nine employees, CCCLC serves approximately 2,700 clients each year through direct services (including legal assistance, advice, referrals and representation), conducts at least 50 workshops, and distributes legal training materials to thousands of clients and community members. Because all AASOC staff are able to communicate in at least one language spoken by clinic clients, they are able to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services with minimal interpretation costs. In addition to providing direct legal services, we strengthen the communities we serve through public legal education. In the coming week, the ALSC will make a formal request to LAO to reconsider its decision not to pay the increased rent.
